9th Ward Improv Opera invites community to a free performance
The 9th Ward Improv Opera invites the community to a special performance tonight, Aug. 28, at the Andrew P. Sanchez Community Center, 1616 Caffin Ave. This performance is part of the Lower 9 Resilience Festival. It's free and open to the public.

The Lower 9th Ward: Rightfully Returned 
"The Lower 9th Ward: Rightfully Returned" is a new video produced by The Sierra Club. The video features Lower 9 neighbors and highlights Hurricane Katrina recovery in Lower 9. 
Katrina 10 Years Later: A Second Life, A Second Chance
An encore presentation of the documentary, "Katrina 10 Years Later: A Second Life, A Second Chance", will air on WYES-New Orleans, Saturday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m.

Evacuteer captains needed in Lower 9
Sign up today to volunteer with Evacuteer. These special volunteers will assist our community during mandatory evacuations.
Diaper drive, donate today
Donate diapers to moms in our community now through Aug. 31. Drop off diapers (sizes 2 - 4) and wipes (3t - 4t) at two locations: 3300 S. Broad and 711 N. Broad. 
 
The diapers will be given away at the Total Toddler Takeover event Friday, September 25, 10 a.m. - noon, at South Broad Community Health Center, 3300 S. Broad.
